Hi Guys - Was excited to try Spanky's Sports Bar and Grill... we love thin crispy pizza and wanted to try their Mardi Gras specials (love crawfish and they have it!) It's a neat place out in the middle of Waterford WI... we drive for unique and good places (55minutes for this) the feel is upscale, local sports bar. We were greeted with a friendly "welcome in"....Our server Nicole was very nice and attentive. We had the crawfish and shrimp dip with pita's for an appetizer- so good! 5 stars!!! The thin crust pizza was crispy and flavorful totally lived up to what was described 5 stars!! I was really excited to have the crawfish etoufee (have had legit made by someone from Louisiana, so big shoes to fill). Unfortunately, I didn't care for the taste of it and had too much rice and not enough sauce and crawfish in the dish. It may just have been me. I did tell Nicole so she knew why I was not finishing the dish. I didn't ask for it to be taken off the bill (I ate some of it - so you pay for it). They took it off the bill - she said if you didn't care for it we are not having you pay for it. WOW that was unexpected and very much appreciated. Drinks were great and atmosphere was fun! We will come back for sure. Side note: I am in the industry and never say anything about that as each establishment does things their way - Spanky's is doing a great job!! Kudos to you all (Only took a few photos we were just enjoying the night)
This is a huge win for me... (mama with daughters) the stalls in the ladies room have extra pieces of framing. Idk if you understand but all woman's bathrooms I've been in have gaps that allow people to see in. This place took the time to remove this problem. You're safe in the stall without peepers. Check it out. Amazing food and great drink selection too. Staff of so nice. Go see the hostess for seating.
Looks like a fun place. Loud conversations. One person in the restaurant had too much to drink and was loud. She didn't mind being very vocal using the "F" bomb frequently. The food was good with sports on the tvs.
I had the hot honey ham sandwich. I would give it a 6/10. I will try something else the next time we dine. The service was good for how busy they were. Our waiter was very helpful in picking out our drinks. Everyone really enjoyed the drinks. It is a cool place. Loud as is your typical bar and grills. Next time maybe we would dine outside. I'm sure we will be back. Especially for drinks.
Since my last review, Spanky's has moved to 403 S. 6th St., Waterford. The delicious menu stayed the same, but now there is more seating room, and a better atmosphere. They also have outside dining, and outdoor concerts most weekends (weather permitting). When we got here, the place was packed. We only waited about 15 minutes and we're seated. Started out with the fried cheese curds. Not breaded, but deep fried slightly until they have a crispy coating. Probably the best fried cheese curds I've ever eaten. I also had the jalapeño Smashburger, with fries. Hot and delicious. Definitely a great cook on duty. They also have increased parking area at this new location. Come in Sundays for $10 "make your own" Bloody Mary's. So many appetizers to choose from. A must try.
I had the Corn-beef Hash Soup. It blew up my mind. It was so so good! Plenty of potatoes, carrots and corn beef chunks. Yum!! I'll go back for more! Our thin crust Wisconsin style pepperoni pizza was delish as well. Mr. Spanky's, the owner, approached to us to say hi and to check if everything was ok. He told us that they will be opening their new location in May. It will serve them well because it's a popular local place. I hope they keep Corn-Beef Hash in their menu. The bar area was busy. Payne was very attentive to the crowd. Spanky's had great live music - Andy Carrols very good duo. Plenty to do in this neighborhood Bar and Grill. See you soon.
